Is Kanye West working on Yeezus 2?
The rapper sparked rumors after tweeting an image of a blank CD in a jewel case that resembles his 2013 album Yeezus. Immediately fans started speculating that he was hinting at a sequel to the critically-acclaimed set. The original Yeezus cover art featured a blank CD in a plain jewel case with a red sticker on it.
He also alluded to a special guest by the name of “Yandhi” during his upcoming performance on the season premiere of “SNL” on Sept. 29. In his tweet, Kanye added a handwritten note that said “Yandhi” underneath his name on the “SNL” board. Some interpreted it as his new alter ego, a combination of Ye and Gandhi.
Following the cryptic tweets, excited fans flooded Twitter with their reactions to the potential album.
Earlier this month, Kanye announced that he was working on Watch the Throne 2, the sequel to 2011’s collaborative album with JAY-Z. However, it’s still unclear if Hov will be involved.
While Yeezus 2 remains unconfirmed, Kanye is working on Good Ass Job, his joint project with Chance the Rapper. The two have been recording in Chicago. On Monday (Sept. 17), Kanye confirmed the news at Chance’s OpenMike Chicago event.
“Me and Chance working on a new album,” he told the crowd, who erupted in cheers. “It’s called Good Ass Job.”
He also announced that’s he’s returning to his hometown for good. “I moved back to Chicago and I’m never leaving again,” said Ye, who currently lives with his family in Calabasas, Calif.
