T-Pain had an “eventful” day at the airport.

The 32-year-old rapper was detained by police after a gun was found in his bag during a security checkpoint screening at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport in Atlanta on Friday (Aug. 31). While inspecting his carry-on, TSA agents reportedly found a loaded Smith & Wesson .380 in his backpack, which was being carried by his bodyguard.

Police removed the weapon, and took the men aside for investigation. T-Pain took to social media to address the incident while it was happening. “#BitchIMightBe a tad bit late to #Lubbock #TX today,” he wrote. “Things at the Atlanta airport are getting……….. eventful.”

T-Pain and his bodyguard were taken to the Atlanta Police Airport Precinct for further investigation, where it was determined that T-Pain was the rightful owner of the gun.

He provided a valid permit to carry and both men were released without charges. However, the bodyguard could face charges for possession of a weapon at a TSA checkpoint.

T-Pain recently dropped his new single “Might Be” featuring Gucci Mane, and is gearing up to release his long-awaited album Stoicville: The Phoenix.
