Kodak Black is a free man after being released from jail early Saturday morning (Aug. 18).
The 21-year-old rapper, born Dieuson Octave, served seven months in Broward County jail in Florida after authorities raided his home in January.
Kodak was picked up in a black Bentley Bentayga SUV and driven to his mother’s home to see his son, according to WPLG Local 10.

Police searched his Pembroke Pines home in January after an Instagram video revealed marijuana around his son. He was arrested and charged with child neglect, grand theft of a firearm, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and marijuana possession.
In February, charges of child neglect and grand theft of a firearm were dropped. He pleaded not guilty to possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and marijuana possession, and was initially supposed to serve one year in prison. However, his release was moved from October to August 18.
“All I can say is, I work very hard to try and give all of my clients a second chance,” his attorney Bradford Cohen told Pitchfork last month. “We were lucky that the matter concerning […] Kodak was resolved in a way we felt was extremely fair by the prosecutor handling the matter. He looks forward to getting out and creating new music and spreading his charity work.”
While incarcerated, Kodak legally changed his name to Bill K. Kapri and passed his GED Ready test.
Black is now awaiting trial for sexual assault charges in South Carolina from October 2017.
