Wale celebrates black women in the cinematic video for “Black Bonnie,” his Jacquees-assisted single.

The Yasha Gruben-directed clip is a testament to black love and stars Wale (Clyde) and his Bonnie as they chase their dreams together throughout history. In one scene, Wale takes the throne alongside his queen in a village in Africa. With the love of his life by his side, they lead the Black Panther movement. The video ends with a flashback, as Clyde meets his Bonnie for the first time in a coffee shop.

“I definitely see you as my best friend, confident, and co-defender,” says Wale. “Forever my ride or die.”

“Black Bonnie” is a single off Wale’s March EP It’s Complicated. The D.C. rapper has been in the studio every day for the past two months and is now readying his sixth full-length album for release on MMG/Warner Bros. Records later this year.
