Another one! Following their 5x platinum smash “I’m the One,” DJ Khaled calls up Justin Bieber, Chance the Rapper, and Quavo for his new summer anthem “No Brainer.”
Over the bouncy production, Bieber holds down the majority of the track and the hook, while Chance and Quavo add their golden touch.
“Not only we do we have another one–this is not only an anthem,” Khaled told Zane Lowe on Beats 1. “This is going to be one of the biggest anthems in the world.”
Khaled also revealed how the collaboration with Bieber came together. “I’m always grateful for the relationship. I’m a big fan of his music from day one. And when I reach out to him, I FaceTimed him, and the record had the vibe and I wanted to present it to him,” he said. “Usually, I like to be there to play music, but he texted me back immediately. He said it’s amazing. This is super amazing, let’s go. Love it. Not only is God the greatest… that’s Justin Bieber. He don’t do many collaborations or features at all.”
“No Brainer” is the first single off Khaled’s upcoming 11th album Father of Asahd, which will have 11 tracks. He has been in the studio with Big Sean and Stefflon Don. “Each song I’m making, I’m making it perfect,” he explained. “Basically, if I can’t get what I want and get a sound and produce the vibe I want, then it got to stick to it, until I get it right. I’m not trying just to turn the album in. I want to make this the album.”
He also teased a “billion-dollar voice” who will be featured on the album. “The first song on the album–not only is your hair is going to stand up. It’s going to touch your bones. Then your eyes are going to open wide open. And you’re going to say, what the f*ck? The most amazing, incredible, introduction.”
Khaled is currently on the road with Beyoncé and JAY-Z opening for the North American leg of their “On the Run II Tour,” which wraps Oct. 4 in Seattle.
