Tory Lanez takes fans behind the scenes of a music video. The Toronto star pulls back the curtains in the “Benevolent” visual from his sophomore album Memories Don’t Die.
Directed by Swavey and Mid Jordan, “Benevolent” kicks off with a violent bang. It features a fight, a robbery, and gunfire before viewers see it’s all an act. From there, “Benevolent” shows different vignettes behind the scenes. Tory sits on a lowrider bike, holds up a boombox, and gets seduced by models, gets his makeup done, and takes directions, all while rhyming along to the MDD anthem.
“Benevolent” is the latest release from Tory’s sophomore LP, which debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 with 54,000 units. More visuals are on the way. Yesterday, he promised that “all the videos for your favorite songs on Memories Don’t Die are coming out,” starting with this new one.
Tory will follow Memories with a Spanish-speaking release. Recently, he bragged about it being “so fucking fire.” Plus, he is actively looking to collaborate with Iggy Azalea and Lil Uzi Vert on social media.
Next month, Lanez is going on the “Memories Don’t Die Tour.” The forthcoming trek kicks off May 11 at Miami’s Rolling Loud and ends Aug. 11 in Birmingham.
