Donald Glover will pull double duty on “SNL” next month. The multifaceted “Atlanta” creator will serve as host of the landmark comedy program on May 5, while his alter ego Childish Gambino will be the musical guest.

Fans speculate this could mean new music is on the way. After all, Gambino’s last album Awaken, My Love! arrived in 2016. Since then, he’s teased the final Childish album in what appears to be an alias retirement.

“I’m making another project right now, to make, but I like endings. I think they’re important to progress,” he recently said. “I think if a lot of things had death clauses in them, we wouldn’t have a lot of problems in the world, to be honest. So I think endings are good because they force things to get better.”

Later this year, Glover is taking off on a North American tour with Rae Sremmurd. The trek kicks off Sept. 6 in Atlanta and ends Sept. 30 in Vancouver.

Glover’s acting also continues to strive. He will star as Lando Carlrissian in Solo: A Star Wars Story and play Simba in the live-action reboot of The Lion King.
