Barbie is back. Following an extended hiatus, Nicki Minaj is ready to make her long-awaited return this week with two new singles.
The double dose of new joints will consist of “Barbie Tingz” and “Chun-Li.” Both tracks will drop at 10 a.m. PST/1 p.m. EST on Thursday (April 12).
To go along with the big announcement, the Young Money Queen unveiled the artwork. The “Barbie Tingz” cover has a vintage horror feel. It finds her dressed in Victorian garb in between four masked dolls. “Chun-Li” is a reference to the “Street Fighter” character of the same name. Nicki Minaj sports her hair to resemble the warrior’s style but flosses in Fendi instead of Chun-Li’s traditional fighting outfit.
Both songs are expected to appear on Nicki’s highly-anticipated fourth album, the follow-up to 2014’s The Pinkprint. Minaj has been absent from social media since December while she completes the project.
There are also rumors of a collaboration with Young Thug called “Anybody,” which may also drop this week. Thugger shared a snippet of the collaboration last month.
Last year, Nicki spoke about their work together during an interview with DAZED. “I was so blown away by his artistry,” she explained at the time. “I can’t wait for people to hear that collaboration.”
