Pink and Logic take on a classic with their revamp of Elton John’s “Bennie and the Jets.”
The cover-remix is part of the Elton tribute album Revamp: Reimagining the Songs of Elton John and Bernie Taupin. Over a hip-hop-infused beat, Pink reimagines Elton’s 1973 classic from Goodbye Yellow Brick Road, while Logic provides a motivational verse about his come-up.
“Tony Montana, the world’s mine,” he raps. “Went from Section 8 to better times / Serving food to writin’ rhymes / For Elton John, the greatest of all time.”
Revamp is a star-studded compilation that also includes Mary J. Blige, Lady Gaga, Coldplay, Q-Tip, Alessia Cara, Ed Sheeran, Florence + the Machine, Demi Lovato, Sam Smith, Miley Cyrus, and more.
After releasing Bobby Tarantino II, Logic also joined Sam Smith on the remix to “Pray.” Next, he’s revving up for “The Bobby Tarantino Vs. Everybody Tour,” which kicks off June 8.
