Cardi B comes through drippin’. Just days before dropping her debut album Invasion of Privacy, the Bronx bombshell unleashes “Drip” featuring Migos.
Over the Nonstop Da Hitman and Cassius Jay production, Bardi unloads a verse about anger management and an addiction to fashion. “I gotta work on my anger, might kill a bitch with my fingers,” she raps. “I gotta stay out of Gucci, I’m finna run outta hangers.”
Bardi’s beau Offset lends a hand on the hook, before dropping a verse. “I’m not getting involved with the hype,” she raps. “I’m too rich to get into a fight.”
Later, Takeoff boasts about his game (“I ain’t never slippin’, I’m a pimp”) and Quavo closes things out with boss talk (“Private jet, we don’t do layovers / One call, I’m having your bae over”).
This is a reunion of sorts. Cardi B and Migos previously collaborated on “MotorSport,” which also features Nicki Minaj. But it’s also a celebration of a new chapter. Most notably, “Drip” is their first collaboration since Bardi joined the trio’s management company, Quality Control.
“Drip” follows “Bodak Yellow (Money Moves),” “Bartier Cardi,” and “Be Careful” off Cardi’s highly-anticipated debut Invasion of Privacy, which arrives Friday (April 6).
After releasing the album, the former “Love & Hip Hop” star will perform on “Saturday Night Live” and then co-host “The Tonight Show” on Monday (April 9).
