G-Eazy goes on a booze-fueled expedition through time and space in the vintage video for “Sober,” his Charlie Puth-assisted single off last year’s The Beautiful & Damned.
The Colin Tilley-directed clip opens up with a bloody Young Gerald emerging from a bed of trash bags. Soon, fans see the time travel mission that landed him there, as he walks through the Roaring ’20s, chugging beers with flappers and Prohibition era homies.
Eazy flashes forward to the 1950s, making love to a housewife, before heading into the ’60s-’70s for a long-haired trip on psychedelics. The groovy-but-dizzying ride leads him to a Wolf of Wall Street-inspired bash and then a violent rave before he’s back in the present.
The Bay Area rhymer is coming off a successful 2017, which saw the release of The Beautiful & Damned. Beyond “Sober,” the album has spawned Hot 100 smashes like “No Limit” with Cardi B and A$AP Rocky and “Him & I” featuring girlfriend Halsey.
