On the heels of the love and basketball-themed “All Star Break Up,” Wale shows his “Staying Power” with his latest buzz release.
The new music arrives following his split with Atlantic Records, which he raps about on the cut. “Lately been feelin’ like ni**as doubt me,” he raps. “Trust me, they don’t got no staying power / Left Atlantic, ’bout a minute later / Every record label tried and scout me.”
The song goes on to reference Wale’s out-of-music success on HBO’s “Crashing.” “Actin’ gig from Judd Apatow,” he brags. “It’s so funny, I’m fly from my ‘Crashing’ gig.” Later, he warns: “Somebody tell ’em I’m back in my zone.”
Just like “All Star Break Up,” “Staying Power” was released through Maybach Music Group and Every Blue Moon. Listen to Folarin’s latest below.
