Lil Yachty is ready to set sail once again. The King of the Youth has just announced Lil Boat 2, the sequel to his 2016 mixtape, due next month.
Dipped in several chains, Yachty Simpson appears in the middle of the ocean on the sunset-soaked album artwork. Location coordinates are written on the bottom, pointing to Atlanta’s Georgia Plaza.
Last year, Lil Boat released his debut album Teenage Emotions via Quality Control, Capitol, and Motown. It peaked at No. 5 on the Billboard 200, and spawned the singles “Bring It Back” and the Diplo-assisted “Forever Young.”
Following the album’s release, Boat lamented the fact that his sales weren’t as high as many expected. He vowed to use it as a lesson moving forward. “I know what you guys (my fans) liked about the project and didn’t like,” he wrote. “I’m putting that into consideration.”
The album arrives on March 9, which is also the second anniversary of the inaugural Lil Boat mixtape. That cover also featured an aquatic theme and the Atlanta coordinates.
Last year, he participated in the star-studded Quality Control compilation, Control the Streets, Vol. 1. Up next, he is also set to join Gucci Mane and Migos on a joint Glacier Boyz project.
