DΔWN is ready to make “WAVES.”
After a relatively quiet 2017, the New Orleans songstress resurfaces with “WAVES,” an empowering female anthem released in partnership with Adult Swim’s Singles Program.
“I’ma have to come from off the bench and play my 50-minute stretch, baby,” sings DΔWN over the Cole M.G.N. production. “You’ve been having me up on the sideline when I’m Curry on the press, baby.”
During an energetic chorus, DΔWN shares her value. “I make your money longer,” she sings. “Always up in your corner / I’m the one to make you stronger.”
Taking to Twitter, Richard said that the track is meant to make a statement. “i promised that i would release new music when i had shit to say,” she wrote. “this is for every woman underpaid, under appreciated, undervalued and undermined… the underdog.”
DΔWN previously teamed up with Adult Swim on 2015’s “Running From Sane” and again on 2016’s “Serpentine Fire.”
