Kevin Gates is set to be released from prison on Wednesday (Jan. 10) and he already has big plans for his post-incarceration life.

The controversial rapper’s lawyer, Herschel Rush, claims that Gates will dedicate time and resources towards helping at-risk youth while he’s out on parole, according to TMZ.

His plans include working with organizations like the Boys & Girls Club, sharing stories about his life in an effort to help troubled teens avoid similar trappings.

The Baton Rouge rhymer served five months of a six-month sentence for kicking a female fan in the chest. Upon his release, a weapons-related warrant was uncovered and he was sent back to prison for an additional 30 months. Now, Gates is being released 21 months early and is set to be on parole with conditions including mandatory supervision and no possession of firearms.

Despite his incarceration, Gates has kept his career going with the release of September’s By Any Means 2, a sequel to his 2014 original.
