Nipsey Hussle and Swizz Beatz get “Down” on a new track in preparation for the Crenshaw rapper’s forthcoming debut album, Victory Lap.

Over hard-hitting instrumentation, Neighborhood Nip raps about his résumé with legendary hip-hop references. “It’s permanent,” he rhymes. “I’ve been down, I deserve this shit / Ruff Ryder, Roc-A-Fella on my murda shit.”

Swizz Beatz comes through at the end for chants and a chorus. “Calling from the ghetto,” he says. “We need help down here / Food around here / Or we gon’ spray everything around here.”

“Been Down” is merely a buzz single in preparation for Victory Lap, but it won’t appear on the album. “Rap Ni**as,” the first single, will be on the LP and is also featured in a new Footlocker x Jordan commercial, which is slated to air during the NBA’s Christmas Day games.
