Fresh off the release of their new album, Double or Nothing, Big Sean and Metro Boomin sit down for an in-depth interview with each other.

Republic Records released footage from the conversation, which took place after an interviewer pulled a no-show. “Fuck this shit,” said Sean. “I’ll interview you, bro.”

The talk allowed Sean and Metro to go back-and-forth with thoughts about their new collaborative effort. “It taught me to not think about this shit too much, to just go in,” said the Detroit Don. “When we set the studio up, you would be making the beat and I would have the mic right next to you. It got done in the right amount of time and it’s some of my best work, speaking from the lyrical side.”

After sharing a tidbit about going to Magic City for inspiration, Sean also opened up about why the group wanted to release this album in the first place. “Our vision was to get this shit out here for the fans because there’s a shortage of quality music,” he explained.

Metro echoed those sentiments, citing some industry information. “There’s no shortage of music at all, but there’s a shortage on that quality,” he added. “Ni**as gotta stand out. Every week, there’s 30,000 new songs updated on Spotify, iTunes, everywhere. 30,000. Facts…Even when we drop our shit, we’re dropping with 30,000 other songs. It’s just about providing people with that quality.”

Featuring Travis Scott (“Go Legend”), 2 Chainz (“Big Bidness”), Kash Doll (“So Good”), Young Thug (“Even the Odds”), 21 Savage (“Pull Up N Wreck”), and Swae Lee (“Reason”), Double or Nothing is out now.
