Inspired by Lil B’s peaceful response to an altercation over the weekend, Lupe Fiasco releases “All While Doing a Rubik’s Cube One-Handed,” a remix to JAY-Z’s 4:44 cut “Marcy Me.”
Over No I.D.’s piano-laden instrumental, which samples Quarteto 1111’s “Todo O Mundo E Ninguém,” Carrera Lu rhymes about Harvey Weinstein’s sexual abuse allegations (“Fuck Harvey Weinstein if you wanna act”) and the current political climate. “Got too comfortable with Barack,” he raps. “Now, Uncle Trump’s making you feel so unwonderful with the hat.”
Later, Fiasco brings Based God into the mix: “Protect Lil B and all lowercase betas to overtake the haters and motivate the saviors.”
Based God’s Rolling Loud speech about the alleged A Boogie attack opens and closes out the track. “I’ma tell y’all like this,” he says. “It’s all love. I don’t promote violence. I’m never with the violence so I love them and it’s all good.”
That speech followed an alleged confrontation with A Boogie, PnB Rock, and their cohorts. Video from the altercation shows several men stomping on Lil B, before he walked away and fixed his suit.
Fiasco isn’t the only rapper to voice his support for Lil B. Others, including Travis Scott, Big Sean, and G-Eazy, shared their love for the Bay Area legend since the incident took place.
