Logic opens another chapter in “1-800-273-8255,” the rapper’s suicide prevention awareness anthem. This time, he’s joined by Juanes, the popular Colombian singer, who gives the track a new voice.
Delivering potent vocals in Spanish, Juanes provides a different perspective on the song, which gets its name from the phone number for the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline.
“I don’t want to wait for someone to come save me,” he sings in Spanish. “I can’t heal. Let me explain.” Later, he gets motivational. “I want to see you dream,” he sings. “I want to see you fly / Don’t let yourself fall / Don’t feel down.”
Juanes was proud to join the socially-conscious cut. “I love being part of a song with such a powerful message and that, with music, we can help those who are in the dark side of life,” he tweeted.
Juanes has become one of Latin America’s most popular vocalists, delivering hit after hit, including “Me Enamora,” “La Camisa Negra,” and “Lo Que Me Gusta A Mi.”
Currently, Logic’s Alessia Cara and Khalid-assisted “1-800-273-8255” resides at No. 4 on the Hot 100, after peaking at No. 3. It is the rapper’s first top 5 single thus far.
