In between starring on “Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood,” Lyrica Anderson returns with another single off her upcoming album Adia.
This time around, the Grammy-winning singer-songwriter, who’s worked with the likes of Beyoncé, Tinashe, and Chris Brown, returns with “Somebody,” a confident anthem about past romances and future wins.
“Boy, you tried it,” she sings. “Now, I do what I wanna do / I’ma shine like I want / You gon’ see me with somebody.”
The song is a warning to those who may not know what they’ve got until it’s gone. “If you don’t appreciate who and what you have,” she tells Rap-Up, “you could easily lose it, him, or her to something or someone else.”
“Somebody” follows past singles like “Dolla Bill$,” which features Ty Dolla $ign, and “Don’t Take It Personal,” which was just remixed by Tyga. “These hoes ain’t loyal now,” he sing-raps. “That’s what my ni**a Chris done told me.”
Adia is a 15-song follow-up to Lyrica’s Nasha Pearl, which dropped in May with appearances from Chris Brown and Sevyn Streeter. The new project is due later this fall and is now available for pre-order.
