In the midst of tragic world events, Big Sean is delivering a heartfelt message about love and pain.

The Detroit rapper starts the self-shot video by addressing the mass shooting that recently took place in Las Vegas, where his brother, sister, niece, and nephews live. From there, he takes on global issues, including the recent Puerto Rico hurricane crisis.

“My heart goes out to the families, to the people who are just in pain,” he said. “I feel like the whole world is in pain right now, from our world leaders to the natural disasters, the hurricanes, Puerto Rico, tornadoes, the crime.”

Sean Don reminded his followers and fans not to give up on themselves, not to give up on humanity, and to rise above it all during this time of despair. He stressed the importance of faith and asked supporters to take responsibility for others in the process.

The Michigan spitter has been an outspoken advocate for a variety of causes throughout his career, including the victims of the Flint water crisis. Through his Sean Anderson Foundation, the rapper has also worked on hospital visits and turkey giveaways. In April, all of his charitable efforts were rewarded with a key to his hometown.
