Ty Dolla $ign goes from the beach to the strip club in the video for his Jeremih-assisted collaboration “Dawsin’s Breek.”
The Ryan Hope-directed clip starts with the Los Angeles crooner hanging out by the ocean, waves crashing behind him. Soon, however, he’s seen throwing dollar bills in the air at a gentlemen’s club, where beautiful dancers show their moves on stage.
After Jeremih performs his verse at the night spot, Ty appears to fall into a trance of hallucinations. Then, all of the ladies in the club turn into ghoulish demons, who keep on twerking despite their transformation.
The video was supposed to drop yesterday, but was delayed due to the tragic mass shooting in Las Vegas. “I was excited to drop the Dawsin’s video today but it was more important to me for everyone to pray for Vegas,” tweeted Ty. “Heartbroken over this shit.”
Last month, Dolla spoke on the muse behind “Dawsin’s Breek.” “It was inspired by ‘Dawson’s Creek,’ but I didn’t want to use their name,” he explained, referencing the ’90s and early 2000s’ teen drama. “So we made up our own name.”
Along with “Message in a Bottle,” “Dawsin’s Breek” is set to appear on Dolla’s forthcoming album Beach House 3, which is due Oct. 27.
