Travis Scott is about to become a father, but first he plans to deliver new music.
In a new Rolling Stone interview, La Flame opened up about his next album, AstroWorld, which he recorded in part during Kendrick Lamar’s “The DAMN. Tour.” “Just chillin’, recording. Formulating a story, the picture I’m trying to paint,” he said. “It’s fun making music on the road – I got a whole studio bus.”
According to Scott, his next tour will feature an amusement part theme with rides around him, to go with the LP’s title, which is a nod to an old Houston attraction. “I don’t know why it hasn’t been done already,” he said. “I think people just don’t do shit. Who makes stages these days that are cool?”
Fans should expect it to be a raging tour. According to Scott, fan injuries and hospitalizations have not calmed his performances down just yet. “People gotta understand, sometimes shit gets out of control,” he says. “I’m not trying to cause no harm – I just perform.”
Elsewhere in the interview, which was conducted before the pregnancy rumors, Scott FaceTimes his girlfriend Kylie Jenner, puts her on mute, and forgets that they’re talking. “Scott cracks up, falls to the floor, drops the phone, keeps laughing – and then seemingly forgets about the call,” writes the magazine. “A minute later, he stuffs the phone into his pocket. I can see that Jenner is still connected.”
Throughout the article, Scott makes other revelations, as well. At one point, he reveals that he was once a thespian, acting in Kiss Me, Kate and Oliver! Apparently, he’s also interested in studying architecture at Harvard, though he’s not keen on research. “I’m not into deep study – all that, like, reading?” he said. “That’s how shit ends up looking like someone else’s shit.”
AstroWorld and Travis’ joint project with Quavo are both expected soon, but neither has a release date.
