Offset and Young Nudy celebrate “Cinco de Mayo” in September on their Farri-produced collaboration, which is set to appear on Quality Control’s upcoming complication.
With his trademark flow, Offset brags about shooting artists, rocking Christian Dior, and pouring up, before celebrating the Mexican army’s victory in the Battle of Puebla. “Migos like Cinco de Mayo,” he raps. “I got the trap in my bio.”
Following Offset’s verse, Young Nudy brags about racks, disses snitches, and boasts about his womanizing ways. “All this goddamn money, I’m flexing,” he raps. “Blue hundreds, bitch, ni**as know I stay flexing / You ain’t got no money, fuck ni**a, you flexing.”
According to XXL, the song was originally supposed to feature 21 Savage before Offset’s cousin Young Nudy added his verse. Now, it is slated to appear on QC’s upcoming compilation, which will also include Migos’ “Too Hotty” and Quavo’s “Stars in the Ceiling.”
Offset isn’t just thinking about music these days. He recently launched a $500,000 fundraiser to promote cancer research in honor of his late grandmother, Sallie Ann Smith, who died of bladder cancer in 2012. “It was really tough losing my grandma to cancer and one of the hardest things I have dealt with in my life,” Offset told the American Cancer Society (via Billboard). “She motivated me to do my best and go for it, one of my biggest coaches.”
Latabia Woodward, Offset’s mother, has been pleased to see her son’s charitable efforts. “Losing a loved one to cancer is devastating, and we need to continue to help educate our communities about early detection and screening guidelines,” she said. “I am incredibly proud of Offset’s desire to help save the lives of others, genuine heart and talent as an artist.”
The fund, which he launched through the American Cancer Society, is meant to help research grants around bladder cancer. Fans who donate $10 or more will be entered to win a shopping spree with Offset in Los Angeles.
In related news, Migos is gearing up to drop Culture II, which Offset has called a “masterpiece,” next month.
