André 3000 might not be releasing a new album anytime soon, but he’s set to star in the upcoming sci-fi film High Life.
Directed by Claire Denis (Beau Travail), the movie boasts a star-studded cast including Robert Pattinson (Twilight), Juliette Binoche (Godzilla), and Mia Goth (A Cure for Wellness).
According to Variety, High Life focuses on a group of convicts who agree to go on a life-threatening mission into a black hole in order to reduce their sentences.
This isn’t Three Stacks’ intro to film. In the past, he’s also acted in Four Brothers, “American Crime,” and the Jimi Hendrix biopic Jimi: All Is By My Side.
Fans of André’s music won’t be hearing much new music from the OutKast icon. Last month, he told Complex that he was no longer inspired to release new albums. “It’s really just an excitement thing, and where I am in life,” he said. “At this stage I’m really more focused on what I am going to be doing 10 years from now. And I hope to God it won’t be rapping.”
