With “Unforgettable” still making waves on the charts, French Montana taps Mariah Carey for the official remix to his Swae Lee-assisted smash.
Bringing her own flavor to the infectious chorus, the Elusive Chanteuse blesses the track with her multi-octave vocals. The iconic songstress even adds background vocals during French’s verse to help accentuate certain lines.
“It’s not good enough for me,” she sings. “Since I’ve been with you / It’s not gonna work for you / Nobody can equal me / I know.”
To go along with this version, Mariah also pops up on an acoustic remix, which features guitar and a folk-inspired instrumental. That iteration also blends all three artists on the cut, though with a distinct vibe from the dance-heavy original.
Initially released as “Unforgivable” in November 2016, “Unforgettable” later appeared on French’s sophomore album Jungle Rules. The song climbed up the Hot 100, eventually peaking at No. 3.
Mariah isn’t the first artist to remix the hit. Dave East, Slim Jxmmi, and J Balvin have also added their own flavor to the dance-ready banger.
MC is currently working on her next album through her Butterfly MC imprint, and is crafting the theme song for the animated Christmas film The Star.
