In New York, Dave East milly rocks.

Before unleashing Paranoia: A True Story, the Harlem rapper takes on Playboi Carti’s “Magnolia.” After being interviewed by Power 105’s DJ Clue, the New York spitter delivered a fiery freestyle over Carti’s Hot 100 smash.

“Close range, I’m just praying that ain’t my distant fate / You really gotta grow up to learn that the system fake,” raps East. “I talk to Nas about how to react when ni**as feel a way / He more concerned with real estate.”

During the interview, Dave broke down the details of his forthcoming project, Paranoia. “It’s my first release with Def Jam,” he said. “It’s not my debut album. It’s an EP. Nine joints. It’s just really bringing people up to date, from me being signed with Mass Appeal, Nas’ label, to me doing the partnership with Def Jam.”

Featuring Nas, Jeezy, Wiz Khalifa, Chris Brown, and French Montana, Paranoia: A True Story is due at midnight.
