After joining forces with Marshmello on “Silence,” Khalid takes on SZA.
Sitting on a tour bus, the soulful crooner was joined by a guitar player for an acoustic mashup of “Love Galore” and “The Weekend.” Coming in at just a little under a minute-and-a-half, the brief clip shows Khalid’s appreciation for the Ctrl standouts.
Throughout the unplugged performance, Khalid breaks down the confident tracks with his own flavor. “Why you bother me when you know you don’t want me?” he sings. “Why you bother me when you know you got a man?”
Shortly before Khalid revealed his SZA cover, Miguel and K Camp covered “The Weekend” as well. Plus, 21 Savage recently released a video of himself singing along to “Love Galore.” The TDE songstress re-shared the video with a knife, a rose, and prayer hands emojis.
SZA launches her “Ctrl Tour” tonight in Richmond. In between North American dates, the RCA signee will open for Bryson Tiller on the European leg of his “Set It Off Tour.”
Meanwhile, Khalid is on his “American Teen Tour,” which is slated to continue through Sept. 21 in San Francisco.
