Drake and Tory Lanez have come a long way. After engaging in a back-and-forth rivalry, the Toronto rappers have made amends and now, Swavey is even thanking the 6 God.
Following their OVO Fest surprise on Monday (Aug. 7), Tory celebrated his former foe in a since-deleted Twitter post. “thank u for paving the way for artist like me to shine from this city,” he tweeted. “Let’s continue to put on for Toronto together.”
Taking to Instagram, Lanez reiterated the sentiments while showing gratitude for the OVO Fest embrace. “This moment was not only impactive to me , but it was BIG for the city of Toronto,” he wrote. “thank u @champagnepapi for bringing me out at the fest.”

The 6 God offered his own kind words onstage at OVO Fest. “We had problems with each other, but we had never even met each other,” Drake admitted to the T-Dot crowd. “I met the man and he’s a great guy!”
Last year, Tory explained their beef. “There’s never been a personal problem because I don’t know that man,” he said. “It’s just one of those situations where, the only thing that’s ever gonna lie in between us is that we can’t share first place and I’m the only guy that’s bold enough to come and really take that right now.”

Following some thinly-veiled barbs from each MC, the guys made peace in May. “The city needs more of this and less of that,” Drake wrote on Instagram.
Up next, Tory is gearing up to drop his sophomore album, while Drake is readying his fifth.
