A$AP Ferg isn’t dancing around questions on his latest single, “Tango,” a collaboration with Kanobby.

Produced by Frankie P, the barebones Trap Lord Tuesdays track allows Fergenstein to unleash “real life” rhymes about his father’s death. “Just found out my daddy died for the wrong reasons,” he raps. “It wasn’t the kidney that took him, it was the bad treatment / Didn’t go to court because our heart was still bleeding / Family grieving, no money could fix the pain that we’re feeling.”

While promising not to “Tango” around with words, Ferg also aims directly at former friends who’ve become phony to him. “Some I came up with, don’t desire to speak to,” he raps. “Fake hugs and love every time, when they see you / They scream ‘R.I.P. Yams,’ but it’s just to please you / But his mom know what it is, just know that we see you.”

Speaking to Beats 1, the Trap Lord said that the song is meant to be direct. “You can’t dance around with your words no more,” he said. “You gotta give them straight to them raw. You can’t dance around questions and answers. You gotta give it straight up how it is.”

“Tango” follows a slew of songs that Ferg released last week, including “Nia Long,” “Furious Ferg,” “Plain Jane,” and “Aw Yea” with Lil Yachty.

Up next, Ferg is dropping an “East Coast” remix featuring Busta Rhymes, Cam’ron, Dave East, A$AP Rocky, and French Montana, ahead of his Still Striving album in August.
