They’re here! According to multiple sources, Beyoncé and Jay Z welcomed twin babies this week.
Bey’s father and former manager Mathew Knowles confirmed reports, taking to Instagram to welcome his grandchildren. “They’re here,” he wrote on Father’s Day (June 18). “#beyonce #twins #jayz #happybirthday.”
But Knowles wasn’t the only one who let the cat out of the bag. An insider also told PEOPLE that Hov and Bey are “thrilled” and that they “have started sharing the news with their family and closest friends.”
TMZ claims that Beyoncé gave birth to a boy and a girl on Monday (June 12) and that they are still in the hospital due to a “minor issue” that is unknown and unconfirmed.
According to the report, doctors did not feel comfortable releasing the twins or Beyoncé as of yet. However, an anonymous source says that they are all “expected to be okay.”
Beyoncé first revealed her pregnancy in February with a stunning maternity photo shoot. “We would like to share our love and happiness. We have been blessed two times over,” the Carters wrote in a message. “We are incredibly grateful that our family will be growing by two, and we thank you for your well wishes.”
While the couple has yet to make a public statement, Jay Z did not show up to the Songwriters Hall of Fame induction ceremony in New York this week, sparking speculation that the babies had arrived.
The twins will have a sister in Blue Ivy, who turned five in January.
