What’s going on “In the South”? Big Boi has the answer on his new Southernplayalistic anthem featuring Gucci Mane and a posthumous hook from Pimp C.
Over a laid-back beat, Guwop kicks things off with a verse about his ice and his seniority. “My jewels so cold that you might get the slight flu,” he raps. “Bird’s eye view, I’m lookin’ down at the little dudes / And if I had to, pussy ni**a, I’d rob you.”
Pimp C follows with a hook that explains how “they wanna know whats goin’ on in the South.” Then, Big Boi emerges with a defiant verse. “Even though the radio refuse to give us airplay,” he raps. “Bump this shit in your Cadillac, your Cutlass, or box Chevy.”
“In the South” is the latest release off Big Boi’s forthcoming solo album Boomiverse, which has already spawned “Kill Jill” featuring Killer Mike and Jeezy and “Mic Jack” with Adam Levine.
Featuring additional contributions from Snoop Dogg, Sleepy Brown, and Curren$y, Boomiverse is due June 16. See what’s goin’ on “In the South” below.
