Good things come to those who wait. Approximately five years in the making, Gucci Mane finally releases his independent movie The Spot, which co-stars his fiancée Keyshia Ka’oir and Rocko.
The street-based comedy, directed by Mr. Boomtown, was executive produced by Guwop himself, with a screenplay by Cedric Huff. Today, it finally premiered after years of false starts, teasers, and delays.
Since at least 2012, portions of the film have emerged online. In August 2015, Gucci promised to release it on iTunes and other retailers.
Despite the delays, Guwop dropped The Spot soundtrack in October 2015. The 13-track project featured contributions from Rich Homie Quan, Trina, Young Dolph, YFN Lucci, Waka Flocka Flame, and more.
Last month, The Wopster released his latest album, DropTopWop, and he’s gearing up to drop another independent film, this time with Rick Ross. Plus, his autobiography is due Sept. 19.
Finally, watch The Spot below.
