White Iverson meets the real Iverson.

On Thursday (May 26), a dream came true for Post Malone, when he met NBA Hall of Famer Allen Iverson, the man who inspired the rapper’s breakout single.

“I met the legend last night and there’d be no ‘White Iverson’ without him,” Malone told Billboard. “I’m still tripping at how sick it was, and as A.I. says, ‘The culture has no boundaries.'”

The former 76ers point guard — who also had a brief rap career — shared a clip of himself rhyming along to the track with Posty last night. “Real life,” reads the caption. Another photo of the duo was captioned with: “The culture has no boundaries.”

Malone shared a snapshot of himself and A.I. on social media too. “FINALLYYYYYYYYYDMRNEJSOFBRVRI,” he captioned it.

The meeting is a long time coming. In March of 2016, Allen Iverson told Complex that he wanted to meet Malone. “I never got an opportunity to meet him. I want to meet him,” he said. “He did an awesome job. I was just telling my friend on the way over here that when we get in the car, we hear [‘White Iverson’] at least like 10 times a day. It definitely gets a lot of record play around here. And it’s just an honor for him to make a song with my name in it.”

Up next, Malone is working on Beerbongs & Bentleys, the follow-up to last year’s Stoney, which spawned the 4x platinum “White Iverson.”
