Another one in the basket for Nicki Minaj.
After opening the Billboard Music Awards with an explosive medley, the Generous Queen has just been named the first performer at the first-ever NBA Awards, produced and hosted by her Young Money labelmate, Drake.
“Performing @ the 1st ever #NBAAwards, hosted by Drake ~ June 26th on TNT,” she tweeted. “#SwishSwishBish.”

Nicki’s nod to Katy Perry’s “Swish Swish” single has certainly generated buzz around a possible collaborative performance, though it’s unclear what song or songs Minaj will perform at the awards.
For her BBMA performance, the Queens MC rocked out to “No Frauds” with Lil Wayne, “Swalla” with Jason Derulo, and “Light My Body Up” with David Guetta.
When she’s not having “sleepovers” with Nas, Nicki is working on her fourth studio album, the follow-up to 2014’s The Pinkprint.
Meanwhile, Drake is excited host the inaugural show. “I get to take the reins on it,” he said. “I love hosting. I love being in a room full of iconic legendary people I look up to and having that pressure to make them laugh and enjoy their evening.”
The NBA Awards, which will be held at Basketball City at Pier 36 in New York City, will air on June 26 at 9 p.m. ET.
