It’s lit x14.
Travis Scott went for a record during the Oklahoma City stop on his “Birds Eye View Tour” on Friday (May 12) when he performed his platinum hit “goosebumps” a whopping 14 times.
This was reminiscent of what Jay Z and Kanye West did on their “Watch the Throne Tour” in 2012, when they performed “Ni**as in Paris” 12 times in a row in Paris. “This will be the most times a song has ever been performed, the most times anybody ever performed a song in concert,” Kanye said at the time. “This is for the record,” added Jigga.
Scott referenced that feat after performing his Kendrick Lamar-assisted single for the 13th time, noting that he one-upped The Throne. “We just broke a record that was set way, way long ago,” he said. “We just broke that shit, right? I think we broke that one. What’s the record? How many is it, 13? I’ma do 14 just in case they say, ‘Nah, that’s not it.’ We’re gonna do one more.”
It’s unclear whether this is a world record that’s been certified by the Guinness World Records. Nevertheless, Scott’s camp is calling it the record for “the most times a single song has been performed by an artist.”
Scott’s “Birds Eye View Tour” has also made headlines for other reasons. Just one day after setting this record, he was arrested for inciting a riot, endangering the welfare of a minor, and disorderly conduct after his show in Rogers, Ark. Prior to that, he encouraged fans to jump from balconies before one fan fell, became injured, and was hospitalized.
The show goes on. La Flame will have plenty of opportunities to shatter his personal best as he continues his “Birds Eye View Tour” through July 9. After that, he will join Kendrick Lamar on “The DAMN. Tour.”
