Goapele is back. The soulful singer-songwriter-activist spreads some sunshine in the video for “Dreamseeker,” the title track off her forthcoming EP, due later this month.

Directed by Sean Alexander, the radiant visual is a dazzling look at Goapele, while she sings in the middle of a yellow poppy field at the Carrizo Plain National Monument in San Luis Obispo, Calif.

Blending gorgeous aerial shots with stunning close-ups, the video adds to the song’s calming Mike Tiger-produced vibes. “I’m a dreamer,” she sings, while birds fly around her. “I’m a hider, I’m a seeker.”

According to Goapele, the video was shot after the wildflower “super bloom” that erupted in the wake of a rainy winter in Calif. “When I read about the super bloom I knew it was a once in a lifetime opportunity to capture,” she tells Rap-Up. “I wanted something whimsical and otherworldly to visually express the vibe of the music. Being amongst these epic wildflowers was like the trip to heaven in the movie ‘What dreams may come.’ I couldn’t ask for a better setting to intro my Dreamseeker EP.”

Ahead of the EP, Goapele is on the “Dreamseeker Tour,” which started last month and ends in her hometown of Oakland on May 21. Dreamseeker, Goapele’s follow-up to 2014’s Strong as Glass, will feature “$ecret,” a nod to Aaliyah’s classic “Are You That Somebody,” and “Stay,” a collaboration with BJ the Chicago Kid.

Dreamseeker is due May 19 via Empire/Skyblaze.
