King Kendrick reigns again.
Kendrick Lamar’s DAMN. remains atop the Billboard 200 for a second week in a row, garnering 238,000 equivalent album units (87,000 traditional) for the week ending Apr. 27, according to Billboard.
Much of K-Dot’s whopping figures can be attributed to his streaming success. The album’s streaming equivalent albums total was 136,000 units and its track equivalent albums total was 14,000.
Even in its second week, DAMN.’s sales are the year’s fourth biggest weekly sum, behind the LP’s debut (603,000), Drake’s More Life (505,000), and Ed Sheeran’s ÷ (451,000). As projected, More Life comes in at No. 2 this week (77,000) and ÷ pops up at No. 3 (55,000).
Drake recently praised his “Poetic Justice” collaborator. Commenting on projections for this week’s Billboard 200, Drizzy wrote: “Amazing to see our music moving!!!”
Elsewhere on the chart, Bruno Mars’ 24K Magic climbs 7-5 with 42,000 units, Future’s self-titled album drops 8-9 with 34,000, and The Weeknd’s Starboy beams up four spots to No. 10 with 33,000 units.
