Kevin Gates’ legal troubles persist. The Baton Rouge rapper has been sentenced to 30 months in prison on a longstanding gun charge.

Gates pled guilty to felony gun possession at the Cook County Sheriff’s Office in Illinois on Wednesday (Apr. 26), according to TMZ.

Last month, Gates served five out of six months for battery after kicking a female fan in the face. Upon his release, officials uncovered an outstanding warrant related to a 2013 case. The warrant was issued after the “2 Phones” MC failed to appear in court.

Gates has been in jail since March 30 and is now set to be transferred to the Illinois Department of Corrections.

Despite the setbacks, his career continues to thrive. Earlier this month, Gates released “What If,” and he is featured on The Fate of the Furious soundtrack, which is currently No. 10 on the Billboard 200.
