The 6 God is returning to the silver screen. While dominating the Billboard 200 with More Life and traveling through Europe on his “Boy Meets World Tour,” Drake found time to purchase the rights to “Top Boy,” a British crime drama series.

Actor Ashley Walters, who plays Dushane on the program, told The Mirror that the former “Degrassi: The Next Generation” star is joining the cast in a significant role.

“We met up to start talking about the show and we are working out a role for him,” said Walters. “He loves acting, of course he wanted a part. He’s going to be really hands on and is getting stuck into it.”

According to Walters, Drake has been a pleasure to work with. “He is such a down to earth, nice guy,” he added. “He’s so famous you would expect him to be this crazy character but he’s actually quite boring, in a good way…I had a meeting with him and I brought all of my kids along. My eldest was chatting away in his ear for ages and he was just cool.”

Drake collaborator Skepta will also reportedly appear on the show when it comes back for a third season on Netflix next year.

In 2015, Drake spoke about returning to his thespian ways. “I can’t wait to get back into acting,” he told W magazine at the time. “No one ever asks me to do movies, and, although music is my focal point now, I’d love to do a film. That was the life that I lived before, and it would be interesting to live it again.”

Earlier this year, he reiterated those hopes while telegraphing this “Top Boy” move. “Acting is another thing that I can’t wait to dive into after I release More Life,” he said. “I think I’m gonna really start to position myself in the acting world and hopefully take some great roles. I’m working on producing things and developing. That’s really exciting.”
