Hot off Wale’s “Shape of You” remix, Ed Sheeran taps The Roots and Jimmy Fallon for a “Classroom Instruments” version of his ÷ single on “The Tonight Show.”

Shaking a banana, Ed sang the barroom love song, while Questlove, Black Thought, and The Roots backed him. Meanwhile, Jimmy sat beside Sheeran, handling percussion. The British crooner would later tweet about the short set: “this was fun.”

Released along with “Castle on the Hill,” “Shape of You” helped Sheeran make history last month as the first artist ever to debut two singles in the top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 simultaneously.

Since then, he’s performed the hypnotic track on “Saturday Night Live” and the Grammys. More recently, he also debuted “How Would You Feel (Paean)” and an acoustic performance video for his new song “Eraser.”

“Classroom Instruments” is a popular “Tonight Show” segment, which has featured Robin Thicke, Mariah Carey, and many more.

Sheeran’s third album ÷ is due March 3.
