After sharing Cape Town’s splendor in the “BDY On Me” video, Omarion continues his South African voyage in his “Distance” visual.

There is a majestic element to the clip, highlighted by South Africa’s landscape, the lush greenery, and spectacular wildlife, including zebras, elephants, and giraffes. Omarion dances in the midst of it all, on his way to what looks like a small village at the top of a mountain.

There, the MMG crooner is greeted by locals. Changing into their traditional garb, he joins tribal dancers in a special ceremony, carrying a shield and spear with him. As he dances with a beautiful woman, the clip ends, noting that the story will be continued in another video.

VHS effects in “Distance” show that it was filmed in October 2016. Last month, O told Rap-Up that he shot three videos in South Africa, which likely means the next one will also be from his trip.

“That was an amazing experience,” said O. “We actually shot three different videos over there. It was an amazing experience to be in a place…for the first time. You’re really connected with the experience.”

According to O, the video represents something even bigger. “This is not just for the C U L T U R E,” he tweeted. “This is for the human race. Look beyond & you’ll get the message. enjoy!”

“Distance” is a single off the R&B heartthrob’s forthcoming album Reasons. His first LP since 2014’s Sex Playlist is also expected to feature a collaboration with Kehlani called “Angel.”
