The Weeknd surprised fans in Los Angeles on Tuesday (Jan. 24), when he popped up for an unannounced performance at 6LACK’s concert.
Prior to the show, which took place at The Roxy, Abel teased that he would be “poppin’ up somewhere in LA” that evening. However, his destination was unknown to most until he appeared at the venue for a two-song set.
Emerging from the side near the end of 6LACK’s set, Tesfaye rocked out to “Reminder” and “Starboy” as the eager crowd chanted and sang along.
6LACK remained on stage, backing up the Canadian crooner throughout. After the surprise, the Interscope star carried on with his set, including cuts from his debut album Free 6LACK, which dropped last year, ending things off with the acclaimed “PRBLMS” as a large screen behind him projected gritty visuals.
Earlier this week, Abel teased his connection with 6LACK when he shared an image of the rising star alongside producer Nav on his Instagram account. The caption was simply two check mark emojis.

Prior to the 6LACK and Weeknd surprise, the sold-out show included a performance from Dreezy, who rocked out to hits like “Body” and “We Gon Ride” during an energetic, dance-filled set.

6LACK’s tour ended on Tuesday, but fans won’t have to wait too long to see him live. His next performance is in Santa Ana, Calif. on Feb. 18 as part of the Soulquarius festival’s after-show.
