On the heels of show-stopping performances on “Saturday Night Live,” Big Sean’s “Bounce Back” bounces all the way to gold status.
On Monday (Jan. 23), the G.O.O.D. Music MC celebrated the RIAA certification, which is awarded for selling 500,000 units.
“‘Bounce Back’ is now Certified Gold,” he tweeted. “Thank yall! Lets keep goin. #IDecided up next! 2.3.17.”
“Bounce Back” has also been climbing the charts. The song is currently No. 15 on the Billboard Hot 100, making it Sean’s third-highest charting track to date following “Dance (A$$)” featuring Nicki Minaj (No. 10) and the E-40-assisted “I Don’t F**k With You” (No. 11).
News of “Bounce Back’s” gold status received love from other rappers, as well, including Sean’s fellow Detroit MC, Royce 5’9. “#bounceback My Ni**a!!!” tweeted Nickel Nine. “Congrats @bigsean I think I know a thing or two about bouncing back……”
Royce’s Bad Meets Evil partner-in-rhyme Eminem is set to appear on Sean Don’s upcoming fourth album I Decided. Other guests include Jhené Aiko and The-Dream.
Recently, the TWENTY88 spitter opened up about the album’s concept.
“I realized my whole life changed when I Decided. that life is about making the right decisions or the wrong decisions,” he explained. “The story of the album is, imagine going through life and you’ve made all the wrong decisions your whole life. You get to the end of your life and you say, ‘God, I did everything wrong. I didn’t work it out with the love of my life. I messed up with my parents. I’m not doing the job I was sent here for.’ Imagine something happens and you get one chance to redo it all. The album is basically a chance, to have that wisdom of an old man while you’re young, and going through life to figure it out.”
I Decided. arrives Feb. 3.
