With Friday the 13th upon us, B.o.B links up with CyHi the Prince for “Scary,” a new track that sheds light on social justice issues.
Over a head-knocking instrumental, Bobby Ray focuses on current events, rhyming about CNN, Trayvon Martin, and referencing Freddie Gray.
“Freedom ain’t free,” he rhymes. “Freedom ain’t cheap / Freedom wouldn’t ring if it worked at AT&T / And I was 10 weeks overdue on a fee.”
CyHi joins in with a similarly-themed verse that also touches on class and racism.
“If you grew up in the ghetto, then you’re mortified from it,” he raps. “They don’t want to see a black man organize nothing.”
Last year, Bobby Ray unleashed Elements, a 37-track effort comprised of his Fire, Water, Air, and Earth EPs.
