Rich the Kid and Kendrick Lamar connect.

Late last night, the duo joined forces in the lab for a new track titled “For the Birds.”

Rich alerted fans about the new cut with a simple tweet. “In the studio working with @kendricklamar,” he wrote. Shortly after that, he posted a shot of himself and K-Dot side by side. “Blessed to do a song Kendrick Lamar,” he wrote. “When you the new wave shit get legendary.”

While it’s unclear exactly what the song sounds like, Rich shared what appears to be a snippet of it on social media, with a smiling K-Dot beside him.

He tells Complex that the cut is slated to appear on his next project and that he had good chemistry with Cornrow Kenny.

The collaboration news arrives just as Rich the Kid gets ready for his “Keep Flexin Tour” with Jay Critch. Starting tomorrow (Jan. 12) in Tampa, the tour is slated to run through Feb. 25 in Las Vegas.

Rich just released his Keep Flexin project on Halloween and Kendrick is reportedly working on the follow-up to 2015’s To Pimp a Butterfly and last year’s untitled, unmastered.
