Shortly after Nicki Minaj announced her breakup with Meek Mill, the Philadelphia rapper fired off a subliminal Instagram diss.
On Thursday (Jan. 5), Meek posted a photo of a white Giuseppe Zanotti sneaker with gold straps. “If you walk out don’t wear these,” he captioned the since-deleted pic. “they wack.”

Fans quickly recognized that Nicki wore those exact sneakers in Ciara’s 2013 video for “I’m Out.” The breakup track featured Minaj lyrics such as: “You gon’ play me? / On Instagram, ni**as trying to shade me / But your bitch at home trying to play me.”
Earlier today, Nicki acknowledged the split on Twitter. “To confirm, yes I am single,” she tweeted. “Focusing on my work & looking forward to sharing it with you guys really soon. Have a blessed New Year. Love u.”
The couple started dating publicly in February 2015. Their breakup follows months of rumors and speculation about their relationship, including talks of a split and a proposal.
Shortly after the breakup was announced, Nicki’s ex Safaree tweeted what appeared to be a sign that he’s available. “Hey big head,” he wrote. The two were together for over a decade prior to Minaj’s relationship with Meek.
