Mariah Carey is speaking out about her botched performance on “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest,” where she became visibly frustrated mid-set.

Speaking with EW, MC revealed that she was “mortified” on stage during the night of the blunder-filled set. “I’m of the opinion that Dick Clark would not have let an artist go through that,” she said. “He would have been as mortified as I was in real time.”

Mariah, who complained about having to perform on a holiday during what’s been called an on-stage “meltdown,” went on to claim that the experience has made her lose trust in outsiders.

“It’s not going to stop me from doing a live event in the future,” she said. “But it will make me less trusting of using anyone outside of my own team.”

Through it all, MC thanked supporters and media members for their unwavering loyalty. “My true fans have been so supportive and I am so appreciative of them and everybody in the media that came out to support me after the fact because it really was an incredible holiday season that turned into a horrible New Year’s Eve,” she added.

Prior to this interview, Mariah had only publicly addressed the incident on social media, writing: “Shit happens. Have a happy and healthy new year everybody! Here’s to making more headlines in 2017.”

MC didn’t point fingers during the interview, but her camp has blamed Dick Clark Productions for the troubled performance in recent days, saying that her in-ears were not working on the night of the show. DCP has responded, saying that they were not at fault for any of the set’s challenges.

The show will go on. Mariah is scheduled to hit the road with Lionel Richie on his “All the Hits Tour,” starting March 15 in Baltimore through May 27 in Fort Lauderdale. Carey says she’s “excited” about the trek and that she’s got “so many hits” and some “surprises” in store for the tour.
