Lupe Fiasco may have retired and canceled the rest of his albums earlier this month, but despite that, Carrera Lu has announced a new LP slated for next year.
According to a tweet from Fiasco, DROGAS Light is now due Feb. 10. Lupe revealed the news along with the presumed red-and-white cover art for the effort, which The FADER reports as the Chinese character for “light” at its center.
Given the retirement talks, it’s still unknown whether Fiasco will drop the previously-announced SKULLS and DROGAS.
Earlier this month, Lupe announced his retirement from rap after his “N.E.R.D.” freestyle was pulled from SoundCloud.
“I’m officially not releasing anymore music,” he wrote at the time. “Albums cancelled…Getting beat up for telling the truth is not how I plan on spending the rest of life.”
