The 6ers are at it again.
Following their “Back on Road” collaboration on Everybody Looking, Gucci Mane and Drake are ending the year off with another collab, this one titled “Both” off The Return of East Atlanta Santa.
DJ Khaled, who is premiering the album on We the Best Radio, made the announcement hours before the project’s unveiling. “Oh did I mention @laflare1017 also has a new rec wit @champagnepapi,” he wrote. “tune in tonight!”
“Both” only adds fuel to the talks of a joint project between Drizzy and Gucci. During an interview with Power 106 this week, Guwop confirmed that the duet effort is still on its way, though he didn’t provide a timetable for its release.
After saying that The 6ers is “100 percent” coming, he acknowledged that it’s nowhere near completion. “He’s working on his album and I’ve got my album coming out,” Guwop explained. “I can’t even lie. I’m not even thinking about The 6ers. I’m thinking about East Atlanta Santa and I’m pretty sure he’s thinking about More Life.”
According to Wop, the pair have only recorded two songs thus far, including “Back on Road,” which leaves “Both.” Therefore, it seems Gucci and Drake haven’t recorded any material for their future joint LP.
News of The 6ers was first revealed in August by producer Zaytoven, who said that he and Mike Will Made-It will likely produce a bulk of the project.
For now, Gucci is dropping The Return of East Atlanta Santa this evening and Drake’s More Life is set to arrive early next year.
